The Capable Hub is dedicated exclusively to improving the availability, quality and upstream alignment of open-source CHERI software. As the CHERI ecosystem matures, we must ensure that its software meets the expectations of industry and doesn’t become a limiting factor towards wide adoption.
Despite the progress that has already been made, the ecosystem has remaining hurdles to solve: software fragmentation, limited upstream alignment, gaps in quality or features, an absence of releases and unclear software dependencies. These ‘gaps’ create friction for everyone and divert effort away.
As an independent, non-profit organisation and a new member of the CHERI Alliance, we are uniquely placed to tackle these challenges. By working in close alignment with the CHERI Alliance and its Working Groups, we will provide the dedicated engineering resources where they are most needed to add value. However, we need your support.
To ensure our resources are directed where they can add the most value, we are establishing a Technical Advisory Group (TAG). We are seeking diverse representation from all corners of the CHERI ecosystem (UK and international), including academic researchers, open-source contributors, national technical authorities, industry partners, early adopters and end users. If you’d like to volunteer, please fill in our form:
The Technical Advisory Group will hold monthly virtual meetings, providing a direct channel to the community to influence our engineering priorities and identify unfunded gaps in the software ecosystem. In due course, the Technical Advisory Group will evolve into a Technical Steering Committee as we transition from public funding to an eventual member based funding model.
We are excited to build this group and work with you to accelerate CHERI adoption.
